Gulf Shores Family Photography's sunrise and sunset family beach photography sessions feature the softest and most beautiful light of any of our sessions. Family beach sessions are offered daily, year round for families of any size. Sunset sessions typically meet about 40 minutes before official sunset while our sunrise sessions begin about 10 minutes before official sunrise. Sunset sessions are great for families and groups of all sizes and types and are our most popular family beach photography sessions. Sunrise sessions feature beautiful light conditions and are a great choice for early risers, couples, adult groups, and families with really little ones.

You can choose to have your photographer come to your condo or beach house or you can choose to meet us at one of our preferred locations. Our favorite locations include the the beautiful beaches and boardwalks of Alabama and Florida Points and the beautiful Gulf State Park Pier in Alabama's Gulf State Park. 

Each family beach photography session features a combination of carefully scripted poses along with fun and spontaneous shots. On an average shoot we will take well over 400 individual pictures for a sunrise or sunset session.

Once your shoot on the beach is done and you go back to your relaxing vacation vibe the real work begins for us. We believe the most beautiful photos are created, not taken, and we are willing to take the time and additional steps to create the best photos for our clients. We begin by importing all of the photos taken and begin the exciting process of selecting the best of the best to undergo countless hours of editing. Our intensive editing process is a labor of love. We take the time to touch each and every photo to ensure we deliver the best possible pictures. Once all photos are gone through and all edits are made most clients should expect their gallery to contain a selection of keepers ranging from 30-45. The actual final number of keepers often depends on the size of the group, number of poses the group participates in, and how much fun is had in front of the camera.

​We enhance each photo by adjusting standard professional elements such as color, contrast, and highlights. Whenever possible, we eliminate unwanted background objects, reduce or remove hair fly-aways, slim arms and tummies, reduce unsightly sandy patches on skin, remove flash bulbs from glasses, lessen obvious pimples and blemishes, reduce perspiration and water spots, and reduce dark under eye circles. On occasion we even replace eyes, heads, whiten teeth, and enhance the skies. Finally, we hand-pick certain images and often add special artistic touches to chosen poses such as black and white, sepia, watercolor, and other special effects. The editing process usually takes about two weeks to be full completed.

Once your photos are ready for the world to see we will provide you with access to a pass word protected gallery where you view your photos. There you can choose to purchase individual pictures or you can choose to purchase all of the images in digital format and download them at your convenience.
